“Early Morning Fog Bank/Early Morning Sunrise” is an adventurous piece of mood music. At the time David Angel lived on a hill above Sunset Blvd. in the Chinatown area. On a typical morning it was foggy before the sun eventually came out. This descriptive piece has the rhythm section performing at a fast tempo while the five horns (symbolizing the sun) play a ballad that gradually becomes dominant with its figures becoming clearer as the fog lifts.
