“Lady Puttering” is a musical portrait of David Angel’s wife. “She always liked to putter around the house. There is a fugue, a ballad, and a free composition area before it goes into a 6/4 waltz at the end.” Notice the use of the woodwinds during the fugue (including Bob Cooper’s oboe), Budwig’s bowed bass and Jack Coan’s fine trumpet solo during the uptempo waltz.
