“One O’Clock Dump” starts quietly before becoming a run through on the chord changes of “I Got Rhythm.” “I wanted to see how far I could push rhythm changes, pushing it out of the box and creating a piece with constant variations.” Among the many musicians who get a chance to make statements are David Angel (who interacts with trumpeter Ron Gorow), trumpeter Stuart Aptekar, Bob Cooper and pianist John Banister.
